Since 2002, Mr Laniado has been a consultant in London and the Thames Valley. He specialises in diagnosing and treating patients with prostate enlargement and cancer, and urinary incontinence in women. He specialises in rapid diagnostic techniques and minimally invasive treatments including robotic nerve-sparing prostatectomy, template mapping biopsies of the prostate, and single incision tapes for incontinence. He has trained in medical school and university hospitals in the UK and the USA.
These are recent patient reported experences on men after nerve-sparing da Vinci Prostatectomy with rapid return to continence and erections where the cancer allowed it.

Mr Laniado performs about 1 or 2 da Vinci Prostatectomies per week and has performed about 100 robotic prostatectomies since beginning in 2008. Before that, he trained in 60 laparoscopic prostatectomies followed by performing another 40 laparoscopic prostatectomies and multiple open prostatectomies when in training.
For men in their 50's or less with low risk disease, they rapidly become dry either within a few days or weeks. After 6 months have passed, men may leak a tiny amount once or less a week causing either no or almost no interference in their daily life. Pad useage is either none or one per day. For men in approarching 70, it takes longer to become dry and there is greater pad use.
Return of erections depends on the prior quality of erections, but for men in their 50s or less having nerve-sparing prostatectomy, erections have returned in 75% or more. Drugs like Cialis, Viagra or Levitra may be rerequired.
Mr Laniado’s time is dedicated almost completely to the clinical needs of his patients. He is actively involved in the training of other consultants and trainees in laparoscopic surgery on the kidney (nephrectomy, pyeloplasty) and prostate (da Vinci Prostatectomy). He sees patients at the Wellington Hospital in London, BMI Fitzroy Square, Spire Thames Valley and the BMI Princess Margaret Hospital In addition to practising urology at Heatherwood and Wexham Park, . Mr Laniado’s clinical responsibilities include research and audit in the techniques we are developing.
With strong belief in continuous medical education and development, Mr Laniado not only teaches, but attend international courses and meetings to increase his knowledge, refine and introduce new techniques that are likely to be to the benefit of patients.
